Valley Art Gallery hosts: This project was made possible through a $500 grant
to the Campolindo High School Art Department from Valley Art Gallery.
This is just one of many annual donations to schools made possible through
the Gloria Marshall Memorial Award. Twenty-eight student artists from Campolindo High School in Moraga will exhibit their acrylic paintings, which were part of a special assignment in Deb Taylor's art class. To prepare the students for Taylor's assignment, Mark Jezierney of the Walnut Creek Civic Arts lead a two-day workshop covering the use of acrylic paints. "The grant made possible the purchase of brushes, paints, pallet knives, etc. for the assignment," said Taylor. "In addition, I purchased the materials at Utrech in Berkeley and the store gave us a nice discount." The students had never been able to work with acrylic paint in their classes before, because there is no school budget for supplies, so this was a wonderful opportunity for them.
