Pat Prosek was born in Philadelphia and is now living in Lafayette, CA. She attended Philadelphia College of Art, Philadelphia, PA and graduated from California State University, Hayward, CA. Painting on location and working summers at the Foundation of the Arts, Long Beach Island, NJ, she also spent two years studying under the tutelage of Jack Harris, a master printmaker at his studio near Princeton NJ.

For the last few years, she has worked exclusively as a printmaker, mainly producing limited editions of etchings along with various monoprints. Working with the complexities of line is truly the essence of her work. She considers every line essential, bringing with it the intensity, direction and texture necessary to the construction of the print. She is continually experimenting, working with environmentally non-hazardous processes and materials in order to obtain the effect of etching without the toxins.

Pat is presently working at the Lafayette Printmaking Workshop in Lafayette, California. She is also a member of the Lamorinda Arts Alliance and the Lafayette Art Gallery, where her work is exhibited.
