CHARLOTTE PANTON Charlotte Panton, is a native Californian and direct descendant of a pioneer family who came here in 1846. She was raised in the country where there were few playmates. This developed her imagination and self-reliance, traits which have carried over into her painting. She is a graduate of U.C. Berkeley with a B.A. in Fine Arts. She continued study with George Post, Michael Green and Marie MacDonnell Roberts. Four of her works are included in the book"The Artists Design" by M.M. Roberts. 1993. She is a signature member of the California Water Color Society and has been included in the CWA National Open Show for several years. She has been awarded an Honorary Life Membership in recognition of her contributions to the society. Charlotte is an artist-teacher whose unique watercolors have won her many awards, showing a mastery of color and design. Her works are included in private and corporate collections both here and abroad. She currently shows in CWA open shows and at the Blackhawk Gallery and the Concord Gallery. She is also represented by the Valley Art center in Walnut Creek. She is a member of "Watercolor California", a small group of watercolor artists who have traveled and painted together and who put on a show of their work every year. Her home and studio are in Walnut Creek. |
