Formerly an instructor at the California College of Arts & Crafts (CCAC),He continues to teach painting at Santa Rosa Junior College in Sonoma, California where he presently maintains a studio.

At the age of 76, Maurice Lapp plants himself on street corners, outside cafes, restaurants, and bookstores to behold our light, our lives. His painting "makes living more intense, more meaningful" for him, but also makes urbanity more poetic and inviting for those who share in it.
