CLARA CONTESSA BURTON After attending Vesper George School of Art in Boston,Ma. Clara Contessa Burton moved to California and later enrolled in the commercial art program at Chabot College, Hayward. She also took many other art classes, one of which was Portraiture with the late Robert Rischelle in Oakland. With many years of painting in oil and some watercolor, Clara became interested in Monotype printing. This is a process by which oil painting is done on a plastic plate. The printing paper, after soaking in water, is placed over the plate, pressure applied and the result is a monotype. Clara's inspiration comes from nature, her surroundings,
